The Parrys International Wolves closed in on the play-off positions with a solid 53-37 home victory over reigning champions Swindon on Monday.

And while they’ll again be without injured duo Rory Schlein and Nathan Greaves, stand-in skipper Jacob Thorssell is confident they can add to their tally.

“Double-headers are never ideal for anyone but this one will be the same for both teams and they’re two big meetings because we’re both trying to get in those play-offs,” Thorssell said.

“I think them being without (Niels-Kristian) Iversen is a big blow for them and we need to try and make the most of that.

“We may be missing a few riders again but we showed against Swindon that we’re still a very strong team.

“So I think we can definitely win at least one of the meetings at King’s Lynn and if we could do that then that would be huge for our play-off chances.”

Lynn’s Iversen is required to race in his home country Denmark on Wednesday, as is recent Wolves recruit Jonas B Andersen with Newcastle’s Matej Kus deputising.

Glasgow’s James Sarjeant stands in for Greaves while rider replacement will again operate for Schlein at No.1.
