Wolverhampton Wolves fired up insists Sam Masters
Sam Masters believes ‘fire in our bellies’ can help Wolverhampton to banish an away-day hoodoo at Swindon tonight.
The Parrys International Wolves ace pulled no punches after Wednesday’s 56-34 beating at Belle Vue, a result which followed May’s 57-33 Knockout Cup loss at the National Speedway Stadium.
Those are the Monmore Green club’s largest losing margins in 2018 with Swindon the only other side to register more than 50 points against Wolverhampton so far.
The Robins have been out of sorts lately, losing four out of five meetings this month, but Masters insists the focus is simply on performances. “We go into every meeting to win and after Belle Vue I think we will go there with fire in our bellies,” said Masters.
“There are a few away meetings left this season and we need to win one at least or get a few points from them. We will be going for it.
“There’s never a good or bad time to face anyone, any team can turn it around overnight and all we will be thinking about is what we’re doing.”
Wolves reserve Nathan Greaves is out after his big crash at Glasgow on Friday and is replaced by Birmingham’s Tom Bacon.
Should in-form Somerset fail to gain anything from a trip to King’s Lynn, victory at Blunsdon would put Wolves top of a tightly-contested league table.
