It was the Robins who claimed victory on that occasion, winning the top flight title in a dramatic last-heat decider.

And with the Parrys International Wolves having lost their first league home fixture of the season last Monday, there’s extra motivation to get one over the Robins.

Team manager Peter Adams said: “It still hurts us does that Grand Final but this is a different season nowand that’s what we have to focus on. Swindon are a very strong looking side again this seasonand I’m sure we’re in for another tough match.

“We obviously want an instant response after that league defeat to Somerset, but it won’t be easy because Swindon lost heavily at Belle Vue last week and they’ll come to us fired up I’m sure.”

Cameron Heeps returns at reserve following an enforced period out with concussion while the Parrys International Wolves have also been boosted with the news that Kyle Howarth is fit to take his place after recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

“We’ve missed Kyle badly in our last few meetings,” Adams admitted.

“He came through his meeting for Sheffield at Lakeside well on Friday and it should be a big boost to have him back in the main body of our team.”

Swindon are without David Bellego who sustained a scaphoid injury in France on Friday. The Robins are also sweating on the fitness of reserve Zach Wajtknecht who crashed out of the FIM World Under-21 Team Cup semi-final at Glasgow on Saturday – a meeting Wolves youngster Nathan Greaves scored 13 points in as Great Britain came out on top.
