In-form Tai Woffinden heads to Prague in great shape ahead of Saturday’s Anlas Czech Republic FIM Speedway Grand Prix.

And the Wolves asset is looking to keep his impressive record at Prague’s Marketa Stadium going – even though he has a shock admission.

“I’ve done well there down the years but even though this sounds strange, it’s not actually one of my favourite tracks,” he said.

“It’s big and fast and I know it pretty well so we’ll go there and see what we can do. I was obviously super happy with Warsaw, it went well in the end although I didn’t make the best of starts there.”

And Woffinden is typically guarded in his views on the Grand Prix field this season. “I won’t change from my usual view, everyone is there to be beaten and everyone in the Grand Prix deserves respect,” he said.

“It’s obviously a tough competition and it’s a long season so, like in 2013, we take it one round at a time and just try and stay in contention at the top of the leaderboard to try and have a shot at the big prize.

“Prague is a great city and it’s a long-standing venue now for the Grand Prix, so I’m sure it will be a great weekend.”

Woffinden won the opening SGP of the season in Warsaw a fortnight ago, but Sweden’s former Wolves captain Freddie Lindgren has the edge on points scored going into round two.
