Wolverhampton Wolves wait on Kyle Howarth fitness

Howarth crashed for the third time in the space of a week during Sheffield’s Championship clash with Peterborough on Thursday.

Left battered and bruised, a decision will be made between Howarth and club bosses overnight after another day of resting.

Should he be unable to take his place, rider replacement will operate at No.2.

The Parrys International Wolves head to the National Speedway Stadium In high spirits though after a solid start to the season.

They’ve won three of their opening four league fixtures with plenty of positives coming from all areas of the team.

And skipper Rory Schlein, who’s unbeaten in two of his last three meetings for the Monmore men, is confident his side can produce another ‘complete’ performance.

Said Schlein: “It’s been a good start for the team but there’s a long season ahead.

“Everyone’s confidence is pretty good though and we’ve all shown what we’re capable of already. We go into every meeting wanting to get the win and there’s no reason why we can’t go to Belle Vue and do that if we’re all on our game.

“But if we can’t manage that for one reason or another, then we just need to keep it as close as we can to give us the best possible chance in the second leg.”

Belle Vue’s in-form wonderkid Dan Bewley moves into the main body of their side for the first time with Polish youngster Damian Drozdz dropping to reserve.

Meanwhile, 2009 Wolverhampton title winner Nicolai Klindt steps in for the Aces’ injured captain Steve Worrall.

While there is no Wolverhampton fixture at Monmore Green on Monday night, Cradley are in action at the venue as they host Stoke in the National Trophy (7.30).
