Wolves hoping for a cracking Easter start
Wolverhampton will get their 2018 campaign under way with a Knockout Cup clash against Belle Vue tonight.
Wolves were due to travel to the National Speedway Stadium in Manchester (12pm) before the weather intervened, meaning tonight’s return at Monmore Green (8pm) now becomes the de facto first leg.
It will be a tough test for Peter Adams’ side as they face a repeat of their 2016 play-off final and 2017 semi-final against the Aces.
But an optimistic Adams reckons they can get off to a strong start on what is set to be a hectic day of racing.
Adams said: “Belle Vue have got a very good team, and they’ve had a couple of competitive fixtures already.
“It should be a good match, and hopefully the weather is kind to us and we can get a good crowd in. At the start of every new season everyone is buoyant, and this should be another good, competitive team I think.”
