Wolverhampton Wolves skipper Rory Schlein wary of ‘favourites’ tag

Wolverhampton are aiming to seal back-to-back league championships when they host Swindon on a huge night of speedway at Monmore Green tonight.

While many fancied their opponents to gain an advantage from Monday’s first leg, it was the Parrys International Wolves who produced a brilliant performance to win 47-43 in Wiltshire.

Now it’s the men from the Midlands who suddenly find themselves being dubbed as favourites to be the first side to lift the new SGB Premiership trophy, despite still being without inspirational duo Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell through injury.

Stand-in skipper Rory Schlein said: “To go and win at Swindon at any point in the season is a great achievement. But to go and do it in a Grand Final when we were missing our top two boys was an unbelievable effort.

“We’ll be keeping our wits about us but our plan is to do what we did on Monday; hit them hard from the off and keep turning that screw.

"We’re hoping for a massive crowd and that could make a huge difference to us.”
