Cradley Heathens to host Golden Hammer meeting

Ashley Morris and Max Clegg are the first two riders confirmed for the famous individual event while current captain Tom Perry is also expected to be a part of the line-up. Motor Market Heathens club chairman Nigel Pearson said: “While we may have missed out on the play-offs and while we were disappointed to have to postpone Wednesday’s final home meeting against Eastbourne, we’re delighted we can now round off the year with the Golden Hammer.

“Having Ash and Max as the first two confirmed names is a great way to start building the line-up because they really are two popular characters because of everything that they’ve done for the Heathens during their time with the club.

“Tom Perry has also informed Will Pottinger that he intends to be fit by that date and it would be great to see him back on a bike before the end of the year after a recent injury.

“We’ve been able to schedule it for the Monday of the Half-Term School Holidays and therefore we are delighted to offer free admission to children aged 12 and under.

“We urge our supporters to come and enjoy a night out with family and friends for what will be our last meeting of the season.

“We really can’t be sure what our plans will be for 2018 and we do have to admit that there is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding our future mainly due to the increasing lack of availability of Monmore Green dates wise.

“But for now we can only focus on what we know will be happening and we’re sincerely looking forward to what we’re sure will be another exciting F.A.S.T Golden Hammer line-up.”
