Tai Woffinden brushes off injury scare
Tai Woffinden has come through an injury scare ahead of this weekend’s FIM Speedway Grand Prix.
The double world champion crashed out of Wroclaw’s 49-41 Polish Ekstraliga play-off first leg defeat in Leszno after clipping rival Grzegorz Zengota.
But the British ace said: “I’m all right! It could have been worse, I’ve not been to hospital and I’ve got a few days to rest up before heading to Stockholm.”
Woffinden, who remains a Wolves asset sits in fifth spot in the championship standings ahead of the Friends Arena date and the Stockholm FIM Speedway Grand Prix on Saturday.
“I’m feeling pretty good about things, this knock won’t change the way I feel about my championship,” he said. “We’ll keep pushing on, doing our best and let’s see where that takes us.”
Woffinden has also confirmed he’s agreed new deals to stay in Poland and Sweden with Wroclaw and Masarna respectively.
“I’ve had seven good seasons with Wroclaw, who know I might make it to a Polish testimonial year there,” he said.
“I’ve been pleased with how it’s worked out with Masarna in Sweden so I’m happy to agree with both clubs. It’s always good to know where you stand at the end of one season so you can start planning.”
