Wolverhampton Wolves: Jacob Thorssell ruled out of semi-final
Wolverhampton have been dealt a blow ahead of their Knockout Cup semi-final showdown with Somerset at Monmore tonight (7.30pm).
Popular Swedish racer Jacob Thorssell has been ruled out as he is required in his home country for a play-off fixture which has been put back from last night.
Parrys International Wolves have no choice but to utilise the rider replacement facility, sharing his four programmed rides around the team.
Club chief Chris Van Straaten said: “Obviously we are disappointed but there is nothing we can do in this situation and we have to go without Jacob.
“It just makes our task that bit harder as we look to build up a useful lead to take to Somerset for the return leg.
“We need the backing of all Wolverhampton fans tonight, it’s an important time for everyone at the club and it will take a big effort from everyone.”
