A torrential downpour and a poor forecast prompted officials to pull the plug just under an hour before start time.

It now means that the Parrys International Wolves will host the first leg next Monday at Monmore Green with Belle Vue staging the return 48 hours later on Wednesday.

Wolves team boss Peter Adams said: “Our approach doesn’t change because we went to Belle Vue aiming to win at their place on the night so now we just want to win in front of our home supporters in the first leg instead.

“It won’t be easy though because Belle Vue have got a very strong team and they’ve also got a decent record of running us close at Monmore - especially this season.

“It promises to be a special night next Monday; we’re in for some fantastic racing and it’s going to be an exciting occasion.”

Before their play-off semi-final, the Parrys International Wolves are in action at Monmore tomorrow when they host Somerset in the semis of the Knockout Cup.
