The 23-year-old has enjoyed another fine season and has helped guide both Wolverhampton and Sheffield to the end-of-season play-offs in the Premiership and Championship respectively.

But Howarth admits the shine would be taken of his year somewhat if he had no gold winners medals to add to his collection.

Said Howarth: “Last year I won the league with Wolves and lost out in the Final with Sheffield so only half of me was ecstatic, if that makes sense?

“But this year I feel both of my teams have got a really good chance of winning their respective league titles and that’s something I want to help them achieve.

“Individually it would be fantastic to play a key role for both and it would be a proud achievement to add to my CV in the same year.

“Riding for two great clubs like Wolves and Sheffield is a huge plus for a rider like me and they each go hand-in-hand.

“They’re both ultra professional, they’re both ambitious and they’ve both got a winning mentality.

“So that’s a huge bonus and they approach everything in the right way.

“Not only could I win the league with both, but I could win the Knockout Cup in both leagues too so I’m focused on having a solid end to the season and hopefully in a month or so I’ll be celebrating with lots of trophies.”
