Returning Riss to aid Wolves’ push
Popular German star Mark Riss is set to return to the Wolverhampton side for their midweek double header at King’s Lynn.
Riss, who has been out since June with a serious hand injury, has successfully come through practice and will be back in the reserve position.
It means Ellis Perks will stand down after deputising for Riss – and the club have given him a glowing reference. Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “First and foremost I want to thank Ellis who has been a delight to deal with.
“He’s got talent and I believe some of the criticism of him on social media has been very unfair. He’s been riding in a very difficult position in the team and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again.
“Mark feels ready to return and obviously we’ve missed him so it will be good to have him back.
“Hopefully he will give us that little bit more strength lower down the order at a crucial time of the season.”
Wolves return home on August 28, against Belle Vue in a top-of-the-table clash (6pm).
