The Parrys International Wolves overcame their first home defeat of the campaign a fortnight ago to get back to their best and regain second place in the SGB Premiership table.

It was a dominant display from the Monmore men, who were in control of proceedings from start to finish and outclassed their struggling opponents.

Two comfortable 5-1s in the opening three races instantly put them in the driving seat and they never looked back with a convincing display.

Three of their top five ended unbeaten by an opposing rider, with Freddie Lindgren, Kyle Howarth and Jacob Thorssell all recording paid maximums while Rory Schlein just missed out in the penultimate race.

Lindgren and Howarth raced to three 5-1s, with Lindgren bravely squeezing around Charles Wright on the opening lap of heat six before the duo shut out Patrick Hougaard with ease as he took a tactical ride in heat 10.

It was a dream return for Howarth as he made his first appearance at Monmore Green since somehow avoiding serious injury in his high-speed horror crash against Poole a fortnight earlier.

He was made to work hard to end his night unbeaten but forced his way underneath in the final race.

Schlein and Thorssell were also untroubled in their three outings as a pair, demonstrating their team riding skills at the forefront of a magnificent performance.

Sam Masters, battling through the pain barrier with rib injuries after a crash for Edinburgh on Sunday, added a solid score to complete a powerful top five.

The Aussie ace blasted clear in his opening ride and worked hard to pass Wright for second in heat seven.

He was unfortunate to hit the deck in a tough first bend in heat 11 but recovered to partner Lindgren to a heat 13 maximum.

Reserve duo Nathan Greaves and Ellis Perks struggled, but Greaves in particular showed plenty of pace and was right in the mix.

He picked off Lewis Kerr up the inside for second in heat two and was unfortunate not to earn more points when he battled bravely with Kerr at the back in heat eight.

Perks also dusted himself down from an awkward spill on the opening bend of heat 14 to edge third ahead of Kerr in the rerun.

Wolves will be back in action as they host Poole at Monmore Green next Monday.
