Wolverhampton saw yet another defeat on their travels.

After missing out in last heat deciders at Poole and Swindon, the Parrys International Wolves grabbed a consolation league point for their efforts thanks to a final race win from Aussie ace Sam Masters.

The Monmore men fell behind in heat two when guest reserve Ellis Perks clipped the back wheel of Rye House racer Ben Morley down the back straight and was sent tumbling. But Wolves drew back level courtesy of a tapes to flag win from Rory Schlein – his first of three straight victories.

The visitors claimed race winners in five of the next seven races, including a 5-1 from Masters and Perks, to move the Wolves ahead for the first time. But Peter Adams’ men were outgated in heats 11 and 12 as they fell six behind.

But Masters came up with the goods in heats 13 and 15 to move Wolverhampton to within a single point of leaders Belle Vue.
