The Parrys International Wolves hold an 18-point lead over the Stars in their Knockout Cup tie and are well on course to book their semi-final spot.

But Schlein is nonetheless keen to maintain their perfect home form against his former club and knows they must guard against complacency.

Said Schlein: “Some people might say we’ve got one foot in the semi-final, but we can’t afford to think like that. They’ve got some good riders and will want to beat us on our own track.

“We want a good cup run and we want to keep our unbeaten home record, so we need to approach it like we would any other meeting.” Max Clegg will be back in the Wolves side as he guests for the injured Mark Riss at reserve, while the hosts will otherwise be at full strength.

King’s Lynn hand a debut to Cradley star Danny Ayres at reserve and feature 2012 World Champion Chris Holder, former Grand Prix star Troy Batchelor and Great Britain international Robert Lambert in their talented side.

Wolverhampton: Freddie Lindgren, Kyle Howarth, Rory Schlein, Jacob Thorssell, Sam Masters, Max Clegg, Nathan Greaves.

King’s Lynn: Troy Batchelor, Thomas Jorgensen, Kai Huckenbeck, Robert Lambert, Chris Holder, Lewis Rose, Danny Ayres.

n Wolves No.1 Freddie Lindgren lost ground in the World Championship race in the Danish FIM Speedway Grand Prix on Saturday.

Lindgren made another semi-final appearance in the fifth round of the series but failed to make the final and had to be content with adding another eight points to his overall tally – moving him onto 51 and leaving him fourth in the standings.

The meeting in Horsens, Lindgren’s 100th Grand Prix event, was won by Poland’s Maciej Janowski.

Russia’s Emil Sayfutdinov was second with another Pole, Patryk Dudek, third and Australian Jason Doyle fourth. Doyle rode through the pain barrier to edge ahead of Dudek at the top of the standings – five days after he underwent surgery on a broken foot.
