Wolverhampton Wolves reserve Mark Riss suffers injury
Wolverhampton speedway reserve Mark Riss is facing a spell on the sidelines with a hand injury.
Riss was involved in a nasty crash alongside team-mate Sam Masters in heat six of Edinburgh’s SGB Championship meeting with Ipswich on Friday night.
The German racer has undergone an operation on two dislocated fingers, whilst further surgery will be undertaken today to fix torn tendons.
The 22-year-old is expected to remain in St John’s Hospital in Livingston until tomorrow and faces a recovery time estimated by the surgeon to be around six weeks.
Wolves are not in action again until the second leg of their Knockout Cup clash against King’s Lynn on June 26.
