Wolverhampton Wolves see cup tie postponed
Wolverhampton Wolves' Knockout Cup first leg tie with King's Lynn has been postponed, due to poor weather.
Skipper Freddie Lindgren had been ruled out of the tie at Monmore Green, but following the postponement may be fit to take on their opponents when a new date is confirmed.
The Swedish racer is still struggling with a knee problem sustained almost a fortnight ago and has been forced to spend extra time on the sidelines.
Seven-time British champion Scott Nicholls will deputise as guest No.1 in Lindgren’s absence.
The Parrys International Wolves have already registered one home win over the Stars this season, pulling off a 59-30 victory in the SGB Premiership last month.
Kyle Howarth is expecting a tougher test this time around and says they are targeting a double point advantage.
“The Knockout Cup is another competition we’re really serious about and it’s another trophy we want by the end of the season,” said Howarth. “I think we’ve got to be looking at getting a double-figure lead from the first leg.”
A new date for the fixture is yet to be confirmed.
