The double world champion, and Wolves asset, insists he is taking a year out of the tournament but is keen to emphasise he has never said he has quit his nation.
Woffinden said: “I’ve been consistent in what I’ve said, I am taking a year out of the World Cup but I’m not ruling out riding for Great Britain again next year.
“It’s always been my plan to take a week off during that time, obviously I wish all the guys well but it’s a week off for me and my wife, the last chance we will have to go away before the baby arrives – I’m not retiring from Team GB.
“I would like to represent GB in the World Games.”
