Peter Adams out for Wolves to scupper the Pirates
Peter Adams insists Wolverhampton are going to Poole to win tonight – not just on aggregate.
Adams saw his side stage a late rally in Monday's Elite Shield first leg at Monmore to take a handy 50-40 lead to Wimborne Road for the decider.
They are sweating on the fitness of popular Pole Adam Skornicki who is nursing a shoulder injury and will make a late decision.
"Monday was a bit of a warm-up in many ways, our opening meeting of the season as a team and I was pleased with the eventual outcome," he said.
"It was hard work because they had strength at reserve in Nicolai Klindt, a rider we know well, and I'm sure he will be powerful again down there.
"But make no mistake, we're not going down to Poole to defend the lead, we're going there to win on the night. That is always my first objective, I never go anywhere to lose a meeting.
"We did enough on Monday to suggest we can be up there competing again this season and of course it would be lovely if we could win the first silverware of the year."
Poole are without Kyle Newman after suffering a serious shoulder injury at the weekend which may need surgery – they'll use the rider replacement facility.
And if Skornicki fails to make it for Wolverhampton, they will only have the same facility available to them.
