Wolverhampton skipper Freddie Lindgren will take nothing for granted despite taking an 18-point lead into the Elite League Grand Final at Belle Vue tonight.

While no club has ever overturned such a deficit in the history of the play-offs, Peter Adams' side are remaining fully focused ahead of the trip to Manchester.

Club captain Lindgren says there is still plenty of hard work to be done, but says the confidence gained from their play-off run has left the side in high spirits. "It was a really good performance from everybody and to be going to Belle Vue with an 18-point lead is awesome," said Lindgren. "It's more than we expected and we're really pumped for the second leg now.

"We feel like we've given ourselves a great opportunity to bring the title back to Wolverhampton but we've still got to get over the line first. We need to stay professional and we know we've still got a big job to do. We can't get too carried away because if they sense that then they'll be more determined to hit us hard early on. So it would be nice to open up with a couple of race wins and a couple of heat advantages and that would help us settle down nicely"
