Club officials vowed to do all they could to ensure the meeting went ahead tonight as planned despite a damp start to the day throughout the area.

Parrys International Wolves chief Chris Van Straaten said earlier a further check of the track would be held around lunchtime.

And the club confirmed via Twitter this afternoon that the meeting had been cancelled.

Officials have rescheduled the tie for this Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Meanwhile Birmingham have moved quickly to put back their play-off semi-final clash with Cradley at Perry Barr to next Thursday, October 6.

The decision has been made after talks between the two clubs to avoid a clash with Wolverhampton's Elite League semi-final against Poole which has been rescheduled for this Wednesday.

Fans should note the change of racenight to a Thursday on this occasion which also avoids a clash with live TV coverage of the Elite League Grand Final.

Surestop Brummies manager Graham Drury says the move is in the best interests of the sport in general and both clubs and their fans.

The second leg remains on the previously advertised date of Monday October 10 at Monmore Green.
