Peter Adams' side bounced back from two successive away defeats in emphatic fashion as they mauled the struggling Lions and made it five wins in seven meetings in 2016.

It was a spectacular all-round team performance from Wolves, with victory never in doubt following a blistering start to the meeting.

After moving two points clear after two races, the hosts reeled off five consecutive maximums in a devastating spell to all but end the meeting as a contest.

Despite falling 23 points behind, Leicester were able to limit the damage with a string of 3-3s but they never looked a threat and were outclassed throughout.

Aussie ace Sam Masters was unbeaten in his opening four rides and narrowly missed out on his second paid maximum of the season in heat 15.

Middle order man Jacob Thorssell was arguably the most exciting rider of the night, pulling off an expert last-to-second blast in heat three to join Joonas Kylmakorpi at the front for their first 5-1.

He then expertly picked off Patrick Hougaard with a mature ride in heat six.

Skipper Freddie Lindgren also made a seamless transition back to the No 1 position, suffering just one defeat with his highlight coming with a majestic swoop around Davey Watt to triumph in heat 13.

Wolverhampton: Jacob Thorssell 12+2, Sam Masters 12+1, Jacob Thorsell 12+1, Freddie Lindgren 10+1, Mikkel Bech 9, Joonas Kylmakorpi 8+1, Kyle Howarth 4+1, Ashley Morris 3+2.

Leicester: Paul Starke 8+2, Patrick Hougaard 6, Nicolai Klindt 5, Szymon Wozniak 4, Davey Watt 3, Aaron Summers 3, Josh Auty 2+1.
