Freddie Lindgren targets second Wolves victory

Wolverhampton skipper Freddie Lindgren hopes they can replicate their Coventry heroics to earn another away win at Swindon tonight (7.30).

A stunning paid maximum from the Swedish star inspired Wolves to a 52-38 win at Brandon last Friday to get their Elite League campaign off to a dream start.

Lindgren admits they were left frustrated after rain caused their home clash with Swindon on Monday to be postponed leaving them still awaiting their first Monmore Green outing.

However, he is keen to see them deliver another impressive performance on their travels at the Abbey.

He knows the Robins – led by World No.5 Jason Doyle – will provide a tough test, but he believes they have what it takes to overcome their poor recent record in Wiltshire to add to their Elite League points tally.

Said Lindgren: "It was a good result at Coventry, but obviously we had the home meeting cancelled which was a shame and we really want to get going. It's frustrating to have the rain-offs, and we really want to get a run of fixtures early in the season, but there is nothing you can do about it.

"We just have to focus on Thursday's meeting now and take each meeting as it comes. We've struggled at Swindon in the past, but we are going there feeling good after that win in our first meeting.

"We know it's going to be a really tough match, it's a track that is pretty different to our home track, but we have some riders in the team who I think should ride it well.

"I think the team we've got this year can do well home and away, we showed that with the way we rode at Coventry and we hope that we can keep that going."

Wolves have drafted in former Robins' ace Steve Worrall to guest for reserve Kyle Howarth, who is riding for Premier League club Sheffield.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Justin Sedgmen, Josh Grajczonek, Rohan Tungate, Nick Morris, Stefan Nielsen, Charles Wright.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Joonas Kylmakorpi, Sam Masters, Jacob Thorssell, Freddie Lindgren, Mikkel Bech, Max Clegg, Steve Worrall.
