A first for Wolves in Elite League opener

Wolves speedway will make their first-ever trip to the new National Speedway Stadium for their opening Elite League fixture of the 2016 season.

The tapes go up on the new campaign when Wolves are the visitors to Belle Vue on Good Friday, March 25, for the first of a double-header.

Hosts Belle Vue will then travel to Wolverhampton for their away meeting at Monmore Green four days later, on Tuesday March 29.

A raft of fresh faces will be in the Wolves line-up, with Swedes Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell the only survivors from last year's line-up.

Boss Peter Adams will be on a personal quest for a 10th top-flight league title - and first since 2009 - with Poole defending their crown for a third year running. Wolves finished a disappointing second-bottom last year.
