The 21-year-old, who will start the season alongside Max Clegg at reserve, has already gained plenty of Elite League experience in recent years.

The reigning British Under-21 champion rode in the main body for both Swindon and Coventry in 2015, but he is delighted to have been handed a place in the Wolves side ahead of the 2016 campaign.

As the club look to climb back up the Elite League table following a tough year, Howarth is looking to hit the ground running when the season gets under way as he aims to enjoy a year to remember.

He said: "It's a fresh challenge for me, and I'm really looking forward to it.

"I was delighted when I heard from CVS (Chris Van Straaten) to say I'd be in the team and I'm really looking forward to riding for him and Peter Adams.

"I've been riding in the Elite League for a couple of years now so I know what it's about and I'm hoping I can do a good job.

"I'll need to find my bearings around the Wolves track but I don't see any reason why I can't get dialled in there pretty quickly."
