Freddie Lindgren coming back to Wolves

Fans' favourite Freddie Lindgren will end a one-season exile from Wolverhampton when he returns to Monmore Green next March.

Lindgren has spent the weekend in talks with club bosses and his return was confirmed last night at the club's winter talk-in with fans at Chillington WMC.

It's a popular move and the Swede, who won't be in the Grand Prix next year after finishing outside this year's top eight, is thrilled to be heading back to his British home.

Lindgren said: "I'm looking forward to being back, and I can't wait to get started again now.

"I had the idea of coming back to the Elite League a while ago, and when I decided I wanted to be riding in the UK again the ideal situation was to come back to Wolverhampton.

"That was always my first choice – it's where I've been all my career and it's a club that is really close to my heart.

"I know everyone there, I have a good relationship with the management and I know the track well, so I'm delighted the opportunity came up to come back.

"I'm looking forward to pulling on Wolves colours again and it's going to be great to be back at Monmore Green.

"I definitely hope I can be back at my best – I'm going to aim to be one of the top riders in the league like I was a couple of years ago.

"I know all the tracks well and I have a lot of experience from racing in the UK for so many years.

"It shouldn't be too much of an issue getting back into things after a year away, so I'm hoping I can start the season well and have a really good year with Wolverhampton.

"Obviously I'm going to be one of the leaders of the team, and I hope I can perform well to help Wolves have a good season.

"We already know Jacob (Thorssell) will be back which is great news because he is a really talented young Swedish rider.

"I'm sure the management will be able to get some other good riders in the team."
