Robert Miskowiak back at Wolves for second spell
Polish star Robert Miskowiak is on his way back to Wolves for a second spell with the club.
Miskowiak raced for the Monmore side briefly last season and has once again agreed to help out in place of Aussie ace Ty Proctor, who misses the rest of the season with a neck injury.
The former Ipswich man had an unsuccessful spell with Poole at the start of this season but is now fully fit and ready to return to British racing.
Miskowiak will make his first appearance in the home match with Belle Vue on Monday.
Club owner Chris Van Straaten said: "Robert was one of the first riders we spoke to once it became clear that Ty was sidelined for the rest of the season.
"But he had an unhappy experience with an injury at Poole earlier this season and wanted to ensure that he was fully ready to come to our aid for the second season running.
"During our search, it was important that the replacement rider had an average higher than Ludvig Lindgren to retain Ludvig's strength in the reserve berth.
"This applied both to riders with previous experience in the UK and newcomers on an assessed average.
"Along with every other Elite League club, we enquired about Patrick Dudek (Polish World Cup winner).
"At one stage, we were in negotiations with Mikkel Michelsen who joined Eastbourne recently but never at a financial level.
"Rider replacement works most of the time but, when it doesn't, we are sorely exposed as we were at Birmingham recently."
The news will be welcomed by fans and riders alike who are keen to see a full team in action in the build-up to the play-offs.
It means Wolves will track a complete one-to-seven for the first time in two months when the Aces visit Monmore on Monday.
Van Straaten said: "We will treat Belle Vue with respect and as this is our final home league meeting before the play-offs we are keen to sign off with a victory.
"But Belle Vue have riders who revel on the Monmore circuit and we will need to be on our guard. I'm sure the fans will give a warm welcome back to Robert."
