Wolves five points clear at top of Elite League
Elite League leaders Wolverhampton brushed aside their injury problems to notch another three points in a 55-38 home victory over Eastbourne.
The result at Monmore Green puts them five points clear of neighbours Birmingham at the top of the table.
And, in an ironic twist it was Brummies man Chris Harris, in for injured GP star Tai Woffinden, who played a major part in securing the success.
Fredrik Lindgren led the charge with a tremendous performance, but Harris also bagged 10+1.
Polish ace Adam Skornicki completed a formidable top three with another double figure return.
Another impressive all-around team performance was completed by middle order man Ricky Wells.
The home side suffered a disappointing start, as they conceded a 4-2 after Bjarne Pedersen held off Fredrik Lindgren to take victory.
But they hit back immediately as Jacob Thorssell rounded Denis Gizatulin in style on the final bend to join Swedish compatriot Ludvig Lindgren for a 5-1.
However, Eastbourne responded with a 5-1 of their own to immediately re-take the lead – but Skornicki pulled Wolves level by leading a heat five 4-2.
Thorssell helped to put Wolves four clear and Harris pulled off a magnificent ride to extend their advantage.
A further heat advantage followed after another Skornicki win, before the Polish ace snatched second for another 5-1 with Wells in heat nine, to put the Monmore men 12 points up.
Pedersen hit back with a double points win to keep Eastbourne hopes alive before Wolves banged in three heat advantages in the final four outings.
Wolves 55: Fredrik Lindgren 14, Adam Skornicki 11+1, Chris Harris 10+1, Ricky Wells 8, Ludvig Lindgren 6+2, Jacob Thorssell 6+2, Ty Proctor R-R.
Eastbourne 38: Bjarne Pedersen 14, Timo Lahti 9+2, Kim Nilsson 6, Simon Gustafsson 5, Denis Gizatulin 3, Cameron Woodward 1+1, Lukas Dryml R-R.
