Wolves were awaiting the results of Tai Woffinden's scan today – with club owner Chris Van Straaten threatening wholesale changes if the star cannot return.

Woffinden will either be declared fit for a swift comeback following surgery to his broken scaphoid, or will have a bone graft to the wrist bone and sit out the rest of the campaign.

If it's the latter, Van Straaten has warned of a complete restructure of the side with No.1 Freddie Lindgren the only rider whose job is safe.

The Parrys International Wolves lost to Poole by eight points at Monmore Green last night – a margin which flattered the home side – and Van Straaten lamented a "pretty embarrassing performance".

"There's lots of excuses you could come up with," he said. "We've got two of the original team on track against a team that's unbeaten. We hadn't enough quality. It's just not good enough. The key to our whole season now is Tai Woffinden. If Woffinden is not fit, then we will have to make wholesale changes. And the way I'm looking at it now is that only Freddie Lindgren is safe.

"If I have to completely restructure, then I'll completely restructure because this is not good enough for a club of this history."

Wolves were within two points of their unbeaten rivals at the halfway mark only to fall away badly in the latter stages.

"It's extremely disappointing and it's not good enough to present to the Wolverhampton people," said Van Straaten.

"We thought we had a chance of breaking the Poole bubble and if anything it was like taking candy from a baby for them."

Van Straaten is due to get information on Nicolai Klindt's broken shoulder tomorrow.
