West Bromwich Dartmouth went top of the Birmingham & District League Premier Division with an eight-wicket win over reigning champions Shrewsbury.

Aqsad Ali claimed 6-51 as Dartmouth limited their opponents to 191-7 from 55 overs, before skipper Kadeer Ali hit 92 from just 115 balls.

They chased down the target with plenty of room to spare. There was also an unbeaten 69 from Warwickshire all-rounder Ateeq Javid.

Dartmouth had begun the day level on points with Berkswell but opened up a four point advantage at the top, despite their rivals winning by five wickets at Walsall.

Having been put in after losing the toss, Walsall were bowled out for 200, a target the visitors chased down with four overs to spare.

The result saw the Gorway Road outfit slip into the bottom two with only Himley, who claimed a losing draw at a Dorridge side below them.

Kidderminster Victoria moved out of the drop zone courtesy of a much needed two-wicket win at home to Walmley.

Wolverhampton are up to second in Division One after a seven wicket win over Smethwick, who dropped out of the top two down to third.

Ombersley are still the team to catch after their seven wicket win over rock-bottom Wombourne, while Old Hill remained in contention with a three wicket triumph against Shifnal.

Penkridge remain hot on the heels of leaders Leamington in Division Two, thanks to a three wicket win over Coventry & North Warwickshire.

Brewood's three-wicket win against Attock in a low scoring affair moved them up to third.

Stourbridge's troubles continued as they were beaten by Leamington, but there was better news for Halesowen.

They lifted themselves off the bottom and out of the bottom two with a three wicket win over Water Orton.

Hawkins fell further off the pace and down to fourth in Division Three after losing by five wickets to Stratford. They were leapfrogged by Streetly, who beat Kings Heath by four wickets.

Elsewhere, there were heavy defeats for Milford Hall and Fordhouses, though rock-bottom Penn did claim a losing draw against Sutton Coldfield.
