Baggeridge Social A have edged closer to the Premier Division championship in the Stourbridge & District League after a 5-0 mauling of Bearwood Cons.

Eliott Bastable, Dave Hall, Maria Catalano, and Justin Donoghue comfortably put the home side 4-0 up, before Reanne Evans was hard-pressed by Joe Anderson, just winning on the pink.

Their closest rivals Hotshots SC A beat their own B team 4-1 to keep up the pressure and now trail the league leaders by one point, with two games left to play.

Hotshots B took the lead through Dawid Konior, but the A side responded through Jamie Brown, Neil Beckley, Bal Sembi and Mark Sutton.

Amblecote Institute A all but assured a third-place finish with a 3-2 win away to West Midlands Police, thanks to Ash Sidaway, Rick Wooldridge and Mark Ganderton, while Brandhall Labour took all five frames at home to Kingswinford Cons C.

In Division One, Norton Social B took a step towards the title with a 4-1 victory over closest rivals Pockets SC B – putting them nine points clear at the top of the table.

Luke Grosvenor, Tony Brown, Paul Bowen and Carl Webb all won for Norton.

Kinver Constitutional’s A and C teams, who are both are challenging for second place, also lost.

The A team went down 3-2 at Bahia’s SC A, while the C team lost 3-2 at home to the Old Edwardian A team.

Kinver’s B team edged another close match at home to Kingswinford Cons A 3-2, while Dudley Ex-Servicemen relied on narrow wins to beat Amblecote Institute B 3-2.

Amblecote’s D team strolled to a 5-0 victory against their own C team, while Moor Pool & Snooker beat Baggeridge Social B 4-1.

In Division Two, three of the top four teams won as Old Edwardians B increased their lead at the top to four points.

They beat Stourbridge Institute D 4-1

Amblecote RBL B defeated their own A team 4-1 to move into second place, while early-season leaders Kingswinford Snooker Centre, lost 3-2 away to Amblecote Institute E.

Wombourne came through a tough home match with Bahia’s SC B 3-2.

Kinver’s D team, newly-formed this season, turned around their poor form of three consecutive 5-0 away losses with a 5-0 win over Stourbridge Institute B, thanks to Dan Barker, Marcus Hines, Joe Smith, John Cumiskey and Chris Barker, who pipped Harry Jones on the black.
