Hotshots stay seven clear at top of league
Hotshots SC maintained their seven-point lead at the top of the Staffs & West Midlands League Division One table after they picked up a 4-1 win away at Smethwick Labour.
Karl Ashmore (43 break), Jamie Brown (57), Mark Sutton and Bal Sembi put them 4-0 up before Dean Skidmore took the final frame of the match as a consolation for the hosts, who now find themselves 11 points from safety.
Next up saw Sedgley WMC A pick up a 3-2 win at home against Willenhall Liberal A. Stuart Pritchard (48) and Rich Haney put them into a 2-0 lead, but Adrian Rosa (61) and Andy Price (65) levelled. However, Sedgley’s Andy Cambridge took a close final frame to seal the win.
Pennfields A moved 10 points clear of the drop zone after they beat relegation rivals Woodfield B 4-1 away from home thanks to Richard Davies, Colin Reade, Simon Thomas and Neil Leighton.
Woodfield C took advantage of Sedgley WMC C not being in action to go top of the Division Two after picking up a 5-0 home win against relegation-battling Dartmouth Central A. Lewis Ferraro, Chan Virk, Enzo Mongiovi, Mike Collins (64) and Shaun Eaton-Lees (81) completed the whitewash.
Shifnal WM B moved to within a point of the promotion places after they picked up a 4-1 home win against Stafford Institute B. Steve Powell (54 and 48), Steve Fletcher, Angus Way and Aaron Sparkes won.
Bottom side Pennfields B picked up a 5-0 home win against Landywood SC B. Tony Davis, Nige Littlewood (33), Craig Davies, Tony Poole and Les Edmunds all triumphed.
Golden Cue B continue to march on at the top of Division Three after they came from 2-0 down to defeat relegation-battling Codsall Firs thanks to Stephen Platt, Adrian Holmes and Ryan Hamilton, whose unbeaten record remains intact as he made it 17 wins from 17 matches played so far.
Goodyear B remain in second after they came back from 2-0 down against Fordhouses CC A to pick up a 3-2 home win thanks to Tom Hurst, Sanjay Pudden and Joe Hutton.
Cannock Cons A have joined the battle for the final promotion place after they moved into third place by beating their B side 5-0 – Andy Whitehall, Mark Thomas, Scott Robinson, Dale Hughes and Andy Sheffield triumphed.
