Khalsa slipped down to fifth in the Midland League Premier Division standings following Saturday’s 2-0 reverse at Highgate United, and Rowe is keen to get back on track at the first attempt.

“We weren’t quite at it on Saturday and they were very good,” said Rowe.

“They were the better team on the day and we can have no complaints.

“We have just got to bounce back at Gresley tonight.

“But they have brought players in recently and beat Walsall Wood 3-0 on Saturday, which was a massive shock because they had only won one game prior to that.”

Rowe will include loan signing Kieran Westwood, who has arrived from Bromsgrove, in tonight’s squad as he covers for the loss of left-back Lewis Worsey.

“Kieran Westwood has come in from Bromsgrove for tonight,” said Rowe.

“Lewis dislocated his ankle a few weeks ago and we had hoped he would be back.

“He played last week for us in the Staffs Cup and we sent him for a game with Smethwick at the weekend. But he broke down again with the injury and we are not sure how long he will be out for.

“We might need to look at bringing in another player or two.”

Walsall Wood’s shock 3-0 defeat at Gresley saw them slip to second in the standings behind new leaders Coventry United.

AFC Wulfrunians maintained their impressive recent run of form with a 2-1 win at Boldmere St Michaels.

Goals from Aaron Bishop and Khenan Barrett secured a fourth consecutive win for the visitors.

“We need to get something tonight if we want to stay in the hunt.

“It’s a crazy league, there are just three points separating the top six. I thought a couple of sides might have opened up a gap but three of the top four all lost on Saturday.

“But we have just got to worry about ourselves.
