Golden Cue C stun promotion hopefuls

Staffs & West Midlands League Division Four outfit Bentley Moor saw their promotion push checked after slipping to a 3-2 defeat at home to Golden Cue C.

Ben Onions, Alan Johnson and Bob Davis saw lowly Cue to an important win in their bid to beat the drop.

Jordan Bannister and Phil Bush won for Bentley, who stay joint top despite the defeat.

Willenhall Liberal B joined them after beating Essington WMC B 4-1 thanks to Ben Mellor, Paul Evans, Richard Bate and Mark Hall.

The visitors avoided the whitewash when Stuart Lovack, with a break of 32, took the final frame.

Pennfields C are a point clear of their rivals in the race for Division Five glory.

They marched on after beating fellow promotion hopefuls Golden Cue D.

Martin Edmunds and Harry Rotchell won for Cue, but Pennfields headed home victorious after victories from Mac Skeldon, Alan Matthews and Paul Williams.

Fordhouses CC C moved into second place with a 5-0 home whitewash against Golden Cue E.
