Tivi buzzing as they bid to tame Wolves

Tividale boss Dave King has no doubt his players will be up for the cup tonight when Wolves roll into town.

The Midland League side host the Premier League outfit in an eagerly-anticipated Birmingham Senior Cup second round tie.

And King admits Packwood Road has been buzzing at the prospect of tackling the Molineux men.

“It’s a really big game for the club,” said King, who saw Saturday’s scheduled league clash at Racing Club Warwick fall victim to the weather.

“We have played Walsall and Albion in the past, but not Wolves. It’s a great game and the place has been buzzing.

“Everyone wants to play in this one. For Tividale to be playing Wolves at home is brilliant.

“They will probably send a mixture of under-23s and under-18s, but it doesn’t matter what their line up is, we are playing Wolves at home.

“It’s a great night for our players because you don’t get the chance very often to go up against professional players.

“It’s about a 50-50 split between Wolves fans and Albion in the squad, and there has been a fair bit of banter flying around.

“The lads are really up for it and hopefully the rain will stay away.”

Tividale earned the tie thanks to an impressive victory away to Sutton in the previous round.

“It was the tie that everyone wanted and we were lucky enough to get it,” added King.

“But I think it’s a reward for beating Sutton in the previous round. They are a level above us and it was a really good performance to go there and win.”

And the Tivi boss is expecting a decent turnout for the clash, with the club keeping admission prices the same.

“We have got the game sponsored and we are expecting a bigger than normal attendance,” said King.

“And the club have kept the prices the same, it’s just a fiver for adults, concessions are three quid and it’s free for under-16s.

“It should be a great night for the club and hopefully we can put on a good display.”

AFC Wulfrunians will also be looking to cause an upset tonight.

Wulfs, who are sitting 13th in the Midland League Premier Division, welcome Solihull Moors to the CKW Stadium.

Moors are sixth in the National League standings.
