Pelsall Social A continued their fine start to the Aldridge League season to go joint top of the Premier Division, writes Mark Poole.
Social fell behind at Wednesfield Cons after Simon Groves took the opening frame of the night, but then hit back in style to take the remaining four games.
Riley Parsons levelled with the aid of a 44 break with Chris Jones, Scott Tapper (38) and Nathan Aston (32) also winning.
Willenhall Liberal Club also triumphed 4-1, at home to Bloxwich Memorial A. Lee Thomson, Lee Bannister, Simon Gough (44) and Adrian Rosa, who knocked in a 54, sealed the win. Steven Cotterill won for the visitors.
Golden Cue A pocketed a 3-2 home win over Landywood SC A, with Cue’s Steve Giles rolling in a nice break of 55.
Gurdip Sidhu and Michael Smith then clinched victory by taking the next two frames before Andy Sheffield and Dave Turner put the visitors on the board.
Aldridge Cons B lead the way in Division One following a 4-1 success at Darlaston Cons.
The hosts took the lead through Alan Elmore (32) before Rich Parker (35) levelled the match. Matt Caron, Shaun Doughty and Tony Walker then completed the job for the home side.
Bentley Moor A continued their promising start as they made it three wins from three games by triumphing at the Amery Club. The clash went down to the final frame with Phil Bush seeing Bentley over the line.
Steve Bircher and Stuart Cox, who knocked in a break of 48, also won for Bentley. Brian Guest and Malcolm Williams were on the mark for Amery.
Rushall Labour A remain at the foot of the table without a win after they were beaten 4-1 at Poets Corner.
Pelsall Social B moved themselves up the table thanks to a 4-1 success at home to Colebatches Club.
Q Bar are still top of Division Two despite crashing to a 5-0 defeat at Lichfield Road BC.
The match was closer than the scoreline suggests as Richard Hooper, Aaron Fellows, Darren Cattell, Paul Maynard and David Matthews struck for the hosts.
Old Hall SC B picked up a 4-1 home victory at the expense of Fordhouses CC – Steve Morris, Nathan Edwards, Callum Crutchley and Tom Hurst the winners.
It was a good night all round for Old Hall as their A side moved in to second place thanks to a 3-2 success away to Aldridge Cons C.
Anthony Harris, Shane Williams and Blake Vaughan won for Old Hall.
