The Woodfield duo combined impressively to win the Doubles title on the excellent Amery Unionist Bowling Club green.

They overcame Essington’s John Corbett and Seve Hill 21-16 in a final that produced some wonderful close bowling.

With Bradley leading brilliantly, they led 18-9 after 16 ends. But a rally by Corbett and Hill saw them fightback to trail 19-15, only to be beaten on the 22nd end by two close bowls from Stewart.

Bradley and Stewart had been forced to dig deep to earn their shot at silverware.

In their semi-final, they trailed 19-17 to Woodfield team-mates, and last year’s winners, Alan Matthews and Brain Harman. But they score three on the penultimate end to go 20-19 up and then found the winning bowl on the next end.

Corbett and Hill enjoyed a far more comfortable passage, beating Ashmore Park duo Keith Elwell and Brian Hesson 21-9.
