Nordley ended their Premier Division campaign 19-points clear of second-placed Penn, making it a brilliant first year in charge for joint captains Bodley and Kevin Hocknull.

And Bodley, who saw the side lose 10-4 at Glasscutters in their final outing of the season, said: “We have enjoyed an excellent campaign this year, myself and Kevin Hocknull are extremely proud to have won the league in our first year running the side.

“But credit has to go to our players, they have demonstrated their ability week in, week out during the campaign which has enabled us to win the league by such a convincing margin.

“A special mention to Mick Ledwidge, who has proved to be a great addition to the side, and also to young junior star Owen Evans, who has made a few appearances with us and shown what a class player is going to be. We hope we can achieve similar success next season and continue to progress.”

And there was cause for double celebration in the Nordley camp as Scott Simpson claimed the league’s individual averages prize, narrowly edging ahead of Scott Harries (Penn) with both players claiming 18 wins from 22 appearances.

Ddudley Dell completed the top three while at the other end of the table, Bylet and Short Heath Libs were relegated back to Division One.
