Bruce Thomason and Sam Mills are also available for the match at Gorway Road, where the hosts will be aiming to continue an impressive run of form.

Walsall, unbeaten in four, currently sit fourth in the Premier One table after last weekend’s losing draw with Shrewsbury.

Skipper Danny Cox said: “Alex, Bruce and Sam have all been key players for us at various points of the season already, so it is great to have them all back in contention.

“We are pleased with how things have gone so far. I said getting off to a good start was key and when we lost the first two matches you do wonder how things will pan out.

“But we won three on the trot after that, which was really positive. We are just taking it one week at a time.”

Cox has warned his team they will have to take their chances against an unpredictable but dangerous Smethwick outfit.

The visitors head into the game on the back of two straight defeats, yet possess a number of talented players.

Cox said: “They are a team full of match-winners and if they are all on song, you can find yourself in a nightmare.

“They can quite easily rack up a score of 350. On the flip side, they have been known to have their bad days.

“The key thing for us is taking our chances when they come.”

Kidderminster, who sit one place below Walsall in the table and beat Smethwick last weekend, host big-hitting Barnt Green, while West Bromwich Dartmouth head to Dorridge.

In Premier Two, leaders Wolverhampton travel to seventh-placed Halesowen, hoping to cement their spot at the top of the standings.

Himley, fourth after last week’s morale-boosting win over Oswestry, host Tamworth.
