Brown plundered 40 goal in 48 games last season as Tividale were crowned champions of West Midlands League Premier Division.

But the24-year-old front-runner has made the switch to Midland League rivals Worcester City.

Tivi boss Dave King revealed Brown rejected numerous offers to move last season but admitted he was disappointed to see him opt for a move to a club at the same level.

"No disrespect to Worcester but I would like to have seen Demetri go to a higher level rather than a club at the level we will play next season," said King.

"He definitely had clubs from a higher level interested and that was also the case during last season.

"He could have gone a few levels higher but he wanted to stay with us and help us win the league.

"Demetri did really well for us. He got 40 goals in all competitions, and I would like to thank him for his service and wish him all the best."

King is looking to strengthen his pack for the step up in standard but already has a couple of player who could fill the void left by Brown's exit.

"We are fortunate in that we have Dan Smith who is a proven striker at this level while Tyree Clarke will be back next season," said King.

"Tyree picked up a knee ligament injury in October but he is looking good now and it will be like a new signing for us.

"Most of the lads have decided to stay on but we are looking to strengthen the squad for next season.

"We want to have a good 18-20 players. We have spoken to some players but we won't be announcing any deals until they have signed the forms.

The club have made one addition with Richard Evans-Hadley joining a goalkeeping coach from Halesowen Town while King is still hunting for a first team coach.

"We are looking for a first team coach," he said. "We have interviewed five and there are still a couple more to see and then we will make a decision."
