And having seen off the challenge of Shifnal in the last four, the Gorway outfit will have home advantage when they take on Barnt Green in the shootout for silverware.

Hosts Shifnal opted to bat first and found themselves struggling on 62-4 despite 38 from Shropshire captain Steve Leach.

Chris Murrall and Chad Brandrick (27) steadied the ship with a 66-run stand with Murrall going on to end unbeaten on 81 as Shifnal posted 204-8 from their 40 overs. Jordan Bulpitt and Luke Stynes both claimed two wickets.

Cox and Shoaib Akhtar (32) got Walsall's reply off to an impressive start with an 88-run opening partnership and it was pretty much plain sailing for the visitors from then on.

James Middleton (46) added 79 for the third wicket with Cox eventually falling for 79 as he side reached their target for the loss of four wickets in the 39th over.

Barnt Green beat the Warwickshire CCC Academy side in a match reduced to 37 overs.

Jacques Banton (77) and Rheedyi Amin (95) led Green to 218-5 with the Warwickshire youngsters restricted to 204-8 in reply, of which Dave Burnell contributed 85 from 63 balls.

A date for the final has yet to be comfirmed.
