Stafford Gymnastics Club are chasing national success

A squad of 20 keen, young gymnasts will head to the Fenton Manor Sports Complex in Stoke looking to build on their stunning success in the West Midlands regional qualifiers where they won won 20 gold, 15 silver and four bronze medals.

Stafford will have seven pairs and two trios of gymnasts aged eight to 17-year olds bidding for glory.

Club owner Emma Hunt said: “Over the past three years we have built up our membership and interest in acro-gymnastics has grown rapidly in Stafford.

“We are delighted that the hard work of so many of our gymnasts has paid off this year, with the club having a record number of representatives at this year’s finals, competing for top titles nationally.”

Local chartered certified accountants Howards have helped the club to buy state-of-the-art equipment so that the youngsters can practice their skills at their training sessions. The firm also supports the club with funding for publicity and promotion to recruit keen young gymnasts.

Howards’ Richard Taylor said: “As the largest firm of accountants in Stafford we support many local businesses and sole traders - some of whom use this gym with their families.
