Reigning Premier Division champions Dell will be aiming to make home advantage count after opening their season with a solid 11-5 success at Bylet last weekend.

Simon Homer was in fine form for Dell as he recorded their best victory, 21-6.

Penn kicked off with a predictable 10-4 win at home to Windmill.

Dave Rhodes and Robert Perry took the individual honours for Penn as they both won to nine.

The star performance on the opening day undoubtedly came from Victoria Park, as they recorded a surprise victory away at M&B.

Ed Finnemore (21-6) led the way in an impressive team display and the Stafford side will look to build on that result when they entertain Bylet.

Last season’s runners-up Willenhall Nordley made an emphatic start as they powered to a 13-1 success at home to Stile.

Rich Bate was a 21-5 winner for the hosts while Wayne Jones and Marl Clayton both recorded 21-6 cards.

Nordley travel to face a Short Heath Libs side who suffered a 12-2 reverse at Cradley S&S last weekend.

Kaye Coulthard (21-6) shone for Cradley while Anton Ashoford 21-12 was Libs’ best performer.

Glasscutters, who beat Woodfield 10-4, host Cradley tomorrow.

Woodfield begin their home campaign with a tough test against M&B while the remaining top flight fixture of the day sees Stile take on Windmill.

Dudley Dell will be flying the flag for the region at the World Club Championships on Sunday.

The action takes place at Spen Victoria Bowling Club in Yorkshire where the Dell take on Greater Manchester outfit Ashron BC at the quarter-final stage as they bid to lift the most coveted club title in the country.

Staffordshire’s Paul Evans enjoyed a run to the semi-finals of the Meole Brace Open

The Willenhall Nordley ace was beaten in the last four by eventual winner Callum Wraight, from Shrewsbury club Castlefields.

The victory gives Wraight an early BCGBA Champion of Champions place, and adds to his 2012 and 2018 triumphs in the same competition.
