Whitewash sees Willenhall edge ahead
Willenhall LIBS A have edged ahead in the race for the Aldridge League title, writes Mark Poole.
Libs hold a slender one-point advantage over St Johns SC at the top of the Premier Division standings following a 5-0 success at Poets Corner A.
Nathan Wood, with a break of 63, and Lee Bannister, with runs of 49 and 34, were in fine form for Libs. Adrian Rosa, Andy Price and Simon Gough completed the whitewash.
Bloxwich Memorial B gave their survival hopes a boost with a 3-2 success against Pelsall Social A.
Aaron Gale and Bob Davies put Bloxwich two up before Riley Parsons pulled a frame back for Pelsall with the aid of a 57 break.
But Bloxwich were not to be denied with Joshua Walker clinching the win before Steve Smart took the last frame for Pelsall.
Landywood SC A eased to a 4-1 away-day success at Willenhall Liberal B thanks to wins from Andy Whitehall, Andy Evans, Scott Robinson and Dave Turner.
In Division One, Aldridge Cons A are within touching distance of promotion following a 3-2 victory over Colebatches Club.

Mark Poole was on good form in the opening frame to put the visitors 1-0 up but from then the hosts took charge with Brian Power, Barry Macey, Ian Miles and Scott Barratt all winning.
After securing promotion from Division Two in their previous outing, Aldridge Social Club suffered only their second league defeat of the season, 3-2 at Old Hall A.
Jason Green put the leaders ahead before Nick Friend levelled the match after beating most wins man Rob Brown.

Stewart Baker pulled a frame back for Q Bar but it proved only a minor setback for the visitors as Darren Westwood secured the match. Adam Hipkiss then gained Q Bar another point.
Fordhouses CC are third after a hard-fought 3-2 win at home to Norton Vic.
Clive Dolphin, Tony Harrison and Terry Hales won for Fordhouses. Roger Davies and Ken Emery Snr replied.
