Having already lifted the Vin Boden Cup and secured the Premier Division title, Jacks beat Otter & Vixen 3-0 to claim the Charity Cup for a third successive season – the first time that feat has been achieved in the competition’s history.

Two goals from Sam Agar and one from Nicholas Turton secured the win and added another trophy to their impressive haul.

The club were only formed three years ago by the owner of Jacks Cafe & Bar in Frederick Street, Wolverhampton, Jathinder Singh Deol.

And the chairman is delighted with the club’s rapid rise.

“I used to sponsor a few teams and one day our assistant manager, Adam Cooper, said ‘why don’t you start a side rather than sponsoring others and call it Jacks?’

“Jacks is the family business and was my dad’s name, so it means a lot to me.

“We won Division Two in our first season and were put into the Premier, where we finished runners-up on goal difference last year. But we have won the title this season and the two cups, it’s been brilliant.

“I wasn’t really into football but I have got the bug now. And what makes it better is that we are like one big family.

“Our manager, Neil Uppal, has been here from the start and that goes for a lot of the players.

“I can’t praise Neil, his staff and the players enough. It’s been a great season.

“At the start of the season we were in five competitions and the aim was to try to win a couple, so to win three is fantastic.

“We wanted the Charity Cup because we knew no team had ever won it three years running. So it’s nice to make a bit of history.”

And Jacks are now starting to plan for the future by branching out into junior football.

“We are starting an under-11 team for next season, Jacks Juniors, in the Stourbridge League,” added Singh.

“A number of junior sides have approached me but we are just going to run with one next season. We want to take it one step at a time and make sure we do things right.”

The league action saw a 2-1 midweek win for Wednesfield Red Lion against Old Bulls Head in Division One, while Frying Pan Darlaston finished off with a 2-0 victory over Wombourne Pool Bar.

Meanwhile, the league are welcoming applications from new teams for the 2018/19 season.

And they are also hoping to run a Veterans’ Division and Ladies’ Division depending on interest,

And there is a special celebration planned for September when the league marks its 60th anniversary.

The event will take place in the Sir Jack Hayward Suite at Molineux on Saturday, September 8.

Tickets are priced £30 each and include a three-course meal, with entertainment from a comedian and tribute band The Black Country Beatles.
