Neil Garbutt, Hannah Golding, golf professional Ben Evans and Mike Durkin celebrate becoming Bridgestone’s Chase Your Dream Trophy winners

Hannah Golding, who is a member of Brockton Hall Golf Club, beat thousands of amateur players to win the Bridgestone Tyres Chase Your Dream Trophy.

Her prize was a place in the British Masters pro-am which took place at the illustrious Close House golf resort in Newcastle upon Tyne on September 27.

The 14-year-old, whose idol is Charley Hull, spent much of the summer competing in the Chase Your Dream Trophy.

She won both club and regional heats before progressing to the final at Woodhall Spa, in Lincolnshire, last month.

And with teammates Neil Garbutt and Mike Durkin, as well as professional Ben Evans, Golding overcame every other team to secure the silverware.

Now she has headed to the British Masters pro-am where Solheim Cup star Hull was in attendance.

Having met her hero, she then got the chance to show off her skills to Hull in the Sky Zone.

She also had the chance to take part in the pro-am alongside Nicolas Colsaerts.

Golding said: "It was a great experience, I gained a lot and he gave me a few tips around the way. It was a good experience to take away and practice back."

"They all keep calm on the course, even when they're not playing their greatest they know they've just got to work harder on the next hole and just keep it steady."

Charley Hull then watched Golding have a go at striking some iron shots and even commented on whether she could be part of the LPGA tour in the future:

"If she keeps striking blades like that, it's pretty good." she said.

Golding, who has a handicap of six, said: "It was an incredible experience and I am thrilled to have won the competition.

"It is the biggest event I have ever won and it means so much to me to have done so well.

"I first picked up a club aged seven because my Dad played golf and I’m so happy I did. It has been an incredible journey so far and I can’t wait to continue it.

“I might have been one of the youngest golfers to take part but I know I’m good enough to play with anyone and I'd like to turn professional one day."
