The Amos Lane side ended last season as Division One runners-up, and also won the division's cup and Birmingham Saturday Vase, but had the league committee vote against them going up.

They appealed the decision and had their case heard today by the FA, who are due to send down independent inspectors to the Cottage Ground to determine whether it meets requirements for the higher division.

Wednesfield said in a club statement: "Following our extremely fair hearing the FA have decided to send their own ground grader to assess the Cottage for themselves.

"Nothing has been decided yet and we will continue to work with the FA whilst they make their decision."
