Free tennis is being put on offer.

As part of the Lawn Tennis Association and Tennis Foundation’s drive to get more people playing the sport, clubs are opening their doors to non-members for the Great British Tennis Weekend.

Parks and clubs will be offering everyone the opportunity to get on court in a relaxed and fun environment and can take part in sessions including cardio tennis, mini tennis and tennis coaching, with the venues providing the equipment.

Among the clubs who are participating in this weekend’s initiative are the David Lloyd Club in Dudley, Linden Lea in Wolverhampton, Quarry Bank Tennis Club, Wall Heath Tennis Club and Lichfield Friary Tennis Club.

Van Willerton, regional tennis participation manager said: “We are really excited that the Great British Tennis Weekend is hitting the Black Country this summer.

“With so many park sites and clubs right across the Black Country running their own Great British Tennis Weekend there really is something for everyone. I hope families take the opportunity to take part in these fantastic events and ready themselves for what is set to be the biggest ever summer of tennis, as we get behind Andy Murray and the British tennis stars.”

A second Great British Tennis Weekend is scheduled for Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July.
