Lower Drayton Farm, between Penkridge and Dunston, is the setting for the British round of the IMBA European Championships.

A host of top riders from across the continent due to compete in four different classes including MX1, MX2, ladies and sidecar racing.

Among those in action in the latter event will be the British duo of Jack Etheridge and Scott Grahame, who are currently second in the overall standings.

They are just three points behind the Belgian duo of Christian Corthouts and Sven Verbrugg.

Etheridge took the overall win in 2015 at Penkridge so is hoping for a repeat result this time around.

Another home rider still in with a shout of a major medal is MX2 ace Josh Waterman.

After rounds in Germany and France, he is currently second in the standings behind Dutch defending champion John Cuppen.

Jack Gardner and Lewis King, who are sixth and tenth in the overall standings, will also be looking to improve their overall positions.

That will not be possible for MX1 racer Jack Cox, who is sidelined with a broken leg.

Leading the way for Team AMCA instead will be Ed Briscoe, who currently sits 11th overall.

Regular competitors, Scott Bates (15th), Sam Smith (17th) and Joshua Scott (18th) also all going well.

The Ladies series has had just one contested round so far and arrives at Penkridge with German world champion Steffi Laier leading the way.

Gabrielle Hamlet is currently the best British performer, in 17th place. Racing is due to take place between 10.30am and 6pm.

The circuit will be signposted from junction 13 of the M6 and Penkridge Town centre, the postcode is ST19 5RE.
